Anyone who has been through a wedding before is aware of the stress that this vital life milestone can bring.
Everyone makes a vow never to experience a wedding day again after it is over. As the bride, you have to think about the wedding dress, the shoes, the bridesmaids, the restaurant, and everything else.
Angie Ver Huel took extraordinary measures to make sure that every aspect of her wedding was perfect, and together with her husband, they surprised all of their guests.
But everything changed when he woke up and made a life-altering discovery the night before the wedding.
At South Middle School in Waukee, Iowa, where she was raised, Angie worked as a teacher for a while. She had dreamed of meeting the fairy tale prince and starting a lovely family with him since she was a little girl.
When she met Justin, a 30-year-old man, she realised this was all she needed. In addition to being funny and intelligent, he did a fantastic job at the bank.
In September 2013, he made her a proposal, and she said yes. There was a year to plan every last detail of the wedding after the engagement. Although the majority of Justin’s coworkers were overjoyed to hear that he had found his true love, there was one who wasn’t as happy.
On May 8, 2014, nine months after their wedding, Justin and Angie were anticipating the following day at his parents’ house.
Justin’s mother, Marie Michael, was startled awake in the middle of the night by a terrifying sound coming from the basement. Then, she heard three gunshots, the door opening, and Angie’s terrified screams. She immediately realised how awful what had happened was.
Justin had received multiple gunshot wounds while sleeping beside his fiance. She saw Justin sleeping next to her when she opened her eyes, and she was the only person in the room.
As soon as his mother called the police, they began investigating this peculiar case.
Initially accused, Angie was later found to be innocent by the authorities.
The most romantic day of their lives had turned into a nightmare because Angie had no idea who would have done such a thing, and the police were conjuring up all possibilities.
Thirty minutes after shots were heard, police drove towards an abandoned car next to a highway.
When Angie began dating Justin, her ex-boyfriend David Moffitt, who owned the car, broke up with her via text message. He was the one who was angry about Justin’s engagement with Angie, and they worked in the same department.
In addition, the police found a shoebox containing a bill in Angie’s other ex-boyfriend Andrew Wegener’s name. Investigators uncovered additional evidence that suggests David may have been wrongfully accusing Andrew of the horrific murder while using Andrew’s name.
When David’s sentence was imposed a year later, Angie was relieved to learn who the guilty party was.
