The death of Treat Williams after his motorcycle collided with an SUV has left his daughter feeling “absolutely shattered,” according to her. Police have said the SUV’s driver was not intoxicated.

Ellie Williams, 25, posted a tearful message on Instagram with an old photo of her dad and a close-up of his name embroidered on a bomber jacket.

It comes after Vermont State Police investigators determined that the horrifying collision’s driver, Ryan Koss, was not intoxicated.

The 71-year-old actor’s only child, Ellie, who is nominated for a Golden Globe, spoke of her “terrible heartbreak” after learning of his passing.

This is a pain I have never experienced, she wrote.
I’m completely exhausted.
All of you who have left messages and kept our family in your thoughts during this terrible heartbreak are appreciated. ’.

As the investigation into what happened continues, Vermont State Police provided an update to the media on Tuesday.

According to the Boston Globe, Lieutenant Steven Coote claimed that authorities have not yet made “a formal determination” as to who is to blame for the collision.

He continued, “Police determined there wasn’t any evidence of impairment” after screening Koss, 35, who is from Pownal in the southwest corner of Vermont.

The driver of the 2008 Honda Element was also “checked by medical staff at the scene for minor injuries,” but he did not require hospitalization.

In addition to using “old-fashioned crash investigation stuff” like on-scene photos, Coote said that detectives have “utilized tools and technology” in the investigation, including a drone flight.

He told reporters that while he could not give an “exact timeframe” for when the investigation is likely to be finished, he hopes to “have some more answers soon.”.

Williams would not have been able to avoid the collision, according to a report from the police.

Both Koss’ car and William’s 1986 Honda VT700c motorcycle sustained significant front-end damage as a result of the fatal collision.

When Koss’ car swerved across the northbound lane of Route 30 in the Morse Hill Road area of Dorset, southwest Vermont, the Everwood actor was riding his $3,500 bicycle when he was struck.

Williams, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was treated by paramedics at the scene before being flown to Albany Medical Center in New York, where he was later declared dead.

Only five incidents—three of which resulted in injury—and one death—Williams—have occurred on that stretch of road in the past 12 years, according to data gathered by the Vermont Agency of Transportation.

The Vermont State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is still working to reconstruct what happened before the accident.
