Recently, a group of women got together to take special family pictures with all six generations.
MaeDell (Taylor) Hawkins is seen cradling her great-great-great-granddaughter Zhavia, who was born in December, in a photo taken last month. Gracie Howell, 58, claims that her 98-year-old grandmother has held “hundreds of babies” over the years.
Gracie elaborates, “We thought it was unique because it was all girls.”
The picture includes MaeDell and Zhavia, Gracie, her daughter Jacqueline, her granddaughter Jaisline, and her mother, Francis.
Gracie asserts that her 99-year-old grandmother is still “as sharp as a tack” and willing to “tell you how to take care of a child.”
During the visit, “Zhavia got a little fussy,” and MaeDell, who now sleeps in a bed and lives in a nursing home, “swooped her right out of Mama’s arms.”
She continues, “We have a picture of her tickling her little feet.” Sweet times.”
While she concurs her family’s story is “astounding,” Gracie says she never anticipated that their photograph should cause such an uproar. However, she claims to have been “overwhelmed” by the excellent response after privately sending the photo to a local meteorologist and explaining the life of her grandmother.
Besides, it has given her grandma an “astounding” a chance for “a little acknowledgment,” she says.
Gracie asserts that her grandmother never complained about her grandmother’s life.
When MaeDell was 16 and he was 50, she married her first husband, a railroad worker who was gone most of the week. Together, they welcomed 13 children and became his ten stepmothers.
She lacked modern conveniences like running water, a dishwasher, and a washer and dryer.
Gracie recalls, “I remember when I was a teenager, and she still didn’t have running water.” Despite this, she asserts that her mother has never been without a decent meal, supper, or clean clothes.
Gracie asserts, “I know she had it tough, but she didn’t complain.” She just continued on ahead.”
Additionally, the family grew over time. She elaborates, “We are a large family.”
All of MaeDell’s stepchildren, with the exception of one, have “outlived their husbands.”
“She’s had a full life,” Gracie adds. ” I just adore her.
