In July 2019, Heart & Bones Animal Rescue received a 3-year-old German Shepherd mix.
This sweet mama stray recently gave birth to and is still raising 11 adorable puppies. All of her puppies were precious, but there was something truly amazing about this one. He is a person born with special qualities that make people excited just by looking at him. The dog’s face had distinctive black spots in the shape of a handlebar mustache, similar to the mustache worn by the famous Spanish artist Salvador Dali.

Thanks to their amazing whiskers, these dogs quickly became popular all over the world. She was named Mustache Puppy, but the shelter found a cool name that suited her best… Salvador Dolly was introduced.
The shelter cared for this little family for a few days, but they had to find someone to take them all in because the little puppies are at risk of getting sick in that environment.
Thanks to a long-life rescuer, Jessica, from Texas, they were able to save Salvador Dolly and her family.
Allison Seelig, of Heart & Bones Rescue, told The Dodo, “The first thing people ask is generally, ‘Is that real?’, and [there’s] a lot of ‘Omg, stop it!’ and squealing over her.”
I mean, who wouldn’t be obsessed with this little face because she is simply too adorable.
At the foster home, the puppies were mostly snoozing, eating, and crawling over each other… basically living their life. Momma was also getting the best treatment, which included lots of food and rest between taking care of her little pups.
When the puppies were fully weaned, they were all flown to New York where they would be eventually adopted.
With the amount of fame that this puppy achieved, everyone was certain that she would be adopted in no time.
Amazingly, more than 100 people applied to adopt this little star, and the shelter was forced to stop accepting further adopting applications for her.
They wrote on their Instagram page, “We have been completely wowed by the amazing response Dolly has received, and hope she encourages more people to adopt, foster, and support rescue groups.”
It took a bit of time for the volunteer team to go through all the applications, but eventually they were able to find the perfect family for little Dolly.
Where Is Dolly Now
“After reviewing over 100 adoption applications, we knew Scott and Ryan were meant to be Dolly’s forever family. They wore Salvador Dalí t-shirts during their home visit, and they took us on a tour of their beach town where neighbors and friends stopped them on the street to tell us how incredible they are,” wrote the shelter in their Facebook post.
Dolly has found a furever home with the couple, Ryan Landry and Scott Martino, who live in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
She is a big girl now, but don’t worry… her famous marking is still there, as prominent as ever, which can be seen in her recent photos.
Landry said in an interview for Boston.com, “She has spurts of energy where goes for like 10 minutes and then she just wants to sit in your lap.”
Martino added, “She’s been recognized on the street when I’ve walked with her a few times. The mustache, I have a feeling it’s going to get more pronounced as she gets older.”
This famous girl enjoys her life at her new home and new town close to the beach, where she often goes for a delightful walk.
Dolly is a truly special dog. She is incredibly kind, attentive, and patient, and this can be seen in her interaction with her new friend, Perry.
