Stanley is a Velcro dog whose love language is definitely physical touch.
He doesn’t like private space and doesn’t want to be alone – ever. He needs to touch his father all the time, and if his father is not around, he will find someone nearby to pat him.
With an unrelenting fear of being abandoned again, the rescuer, Stanley, clings to the hand of his faithful owner and overcomes the scars of his challenging past. Meet Stanley the Devil Felt Dog

Sam Clarence adopted six-month-old puppy Stanley from Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue. Stanley is a “failed caretaker”. At the time, Sam was volunteering as a dog walker at the shelter when they approached him about fostering a puppy for a few weeks.
Two six-month-old puppies were found with their mother in a nearby abandoned house. They are scared, hungry and in desperate need of help.

Sam couldn’t say no to the boarders, but when he saw Stanley, he knew he wasn’t going anywhere. “When we got home, he was so scared it took him an hour to slowly get out of the car. As soon as he got out, I washed him, fed him and cooked him in front of the fire. Nice bed.” The Dodo told Sam. It took Stanley some time to get used to life in the house, but one thing is for sure – he loves his new dad.
“He used to sleep in bed with me as a child and we never met. He lay behind me and always had at least one paw rubbing my back; if I moved, he would,” Sam said.
From that moment on, Stanley’s obsession with touching his father grew more and more intense. Always be impressive

“We have to keep in touch all the time. He’s very strict about it,” Sam said. Stanley went from being a terrified stray puppy to a veritable “velcro dog” who refused to let go of his father’s hand while they were together, even while Sam was driving.

You just can’t say no to Stanley. He is very adamant about his “always touch” rule. If you don’t comply, he will force you.
“If we’re watching TV, it’s the same. My nails will fly at me until I touch him. It’s just his quirk.
He would do the same to my roommates if I wasn’t around,” Sam said. Stanley enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially going to the beach, river or lake.

Of course he likes to spend time with his father. His father was his safe haven and there was no place Stanley wanted to be.
