Wearing her new Chewbacca mask while giving birth struck Katie Stricker Curtis as a funny idea.

When 32-year-old Katie Stricker Curtis gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Jayden Lee, on January 3rd, the force was evidently with her.

The staff at Windsor Regional Hospital were in stitches when a medical assistant from Windsor, Ontario, decided to give birth while sporting a Chewbacca mask from Star Wars.

She posted a ten-second video to her Facebook page on January 2nd of herself going into labour while donning the Chewy mask, and it has since been viewed over 216,000 times.

This is not the first time a Chewbacca mask has garnered unfavourable attention. A video of a woman sporting a Chewbacca mask went viral earlier this year. Candace Payne, a.k.a. “Chewbacca Mom,” captured herself in her car, beaming broadly as she put on the brand-new Chewbacca mask she had recently bought from Kohls.

Curtis exclaimed, “I watched the original Chewbacca video over the summer and thought it was hilarious. “I just kept laughing and laughing at it!”.

As her pregnancy ended, Curtis was frantically trying to start labour. “My brother bought me the mask for Christmas as a joke, hoping I would laugh myself into giving birth. So I figured it’d be fun if I wore the mask for some of my work. “.

Curtis stuck to her plan even as she went into labour. During the third hour of work, she wore the amusing mask because she remembered it. The 40-year-old Scott Curtis recorded the brief video and sent it to the brother of his wife, who changed Curtis’ natural groans into “Chewbacca noises.”. “.

The labour and delivery staff and the siblings thought it was funny. She exclaimed, “My doctor and all the nurses thought it was amusing.”.

The video, according to Curtis, was made for her brother, and she had given it much thought when they decided to post it on Facebook. “One of my friends asked if she could make it public so she could share it with her friends,” she yelled.

She described herself as “always a goofball” and “the class clown,” so her friends and family weren’t surprised by her actions.

She said I hope I never lose my humour, she said. It ranks among my most priceless belongings. “.

She claims that anyone who objects is taking her joke too seriously.

She said, “There are always those out there with no personality or sense of humour who only have awful things to say. I try not to read the comments.”. Curtis insists that she didn’t attempt to appropriate the original “Chewbacca Mom” video to gain internet fame.

“Really, don’t you think I would have done more than a 10-second phone video if I were trying to mimic someone? That video was truly amazing, and the original Chewbacca Mom will never be surpassed; her laughter was contagious!”.

Baby Jayden will never experience the dark side as long as his witty mother is by his side. That much is certain.
