When an Atlanta-based TikTok creator shared a video of a friend’s birthday dinner turning chaotic because he wouldn’t split the $4,600 bill evenly, it sparked a ferocious online debate.

Viccgotti, who has 1.4 million followers on TikTok, vehemently protests that he shouldn’t be required to split the sizeable bill for his friend’s meal, instead insisting on only paying for what he consumed.

My birthday, f-ing.
I should not have to pay for anything on my birthday, the woman exclaimed.

How can I be made to pay for something that I didn’t purchase?

The group is seen causing a scene in the pricey restaurant as Viccgotti calls attention to everyone else’s extravagant orders in the video, which has received nearly a million likes in less than 24 hours. What he had ordered himself is unknown.

A context label stating that the video had been staged was added when it was posted to Twitter. The post was later deleted by Reddit staff, who noted that “staged videos are not permitted on this platform.”. ”.

We come out together and divide the bill, a woman in a hot pink suit later added. Period!’.

While the other man remained seated, one man stood up and objected, saying, “You got lamb chop, you got steak, look at all they got, and they talk about splitting the bill.”. After ordering too much, you want to split the bill, he said.

Viccgotti acknowledged in a subsequent post that his friendship with his friend, who he has known since third grade, is no longer friendly.

In another video, he said, “We ultimately brought the waiter over, and I told him, “Don’t split anything for me, they can split if they want, but we’re not here for that.”.

Many viewers of the video disagreed about the best course of action.

“I’ll never argue about splitting a bill. One user wrote, “I’m just going to pay for MY food order and tip, give whatever I want to the birthday person, and leave.”.

Another person said, “My bill is usually the most expensive when I go out, and I always pay for myself. ”.

The expected conduct in a high-end restaurant, on the other hand, was the focus of some people.

One viewer exclaimed, “The screaming in a fancy restaurant is killing me.

Someone else remarked, “Y’all aren’t embarrassed screaming about the bill.”.

One person said, “Y’all should’ve established that before sitting down.”.

Your opinions on this, please?
