A young Chihuahua puppy at a shelter gets love and becomes “another puppy.”
Every puppy in a shelter wants to find an owner who will love and cherish them forever. While they wait at the kennel door, hopefully one of the shelter visitors will pick them up and take them to a loving home they’ve never been to before. Unfortunately, every day, some shelter dogs are neglected, never grow up, and never find the happiness they deserve.
The following story is about Tater Tot, a small shelter puppy who knows all too well what it means to be neglected and never feel loved and cared for.

Ever since Little Tater Tot arrived at the Austin Animal Center in Texas, he has stolen the hearts of everyone at the shelter. He needed special treatment because he had severe scabies. Despite his skin condition, he was very friendly. He just wanted to be loved. The shelter staff cared for him and gave him the treatment he needed.
Knowing that little Tater Tot would return home sooner, they tried to find him a foster home. Shelter staff were saddened to learn that a sweet puppy had been neglected due to a skin condition. No one was willing to give him the opportunity he so desperately needed. His caretakers knew that Little Tater Tot needed someone to believe in him and give him lots of love. They were confident that the adorable puppy would grow up very quickly.
Move to an orphanage full of love

Fortunately, a wonderful couple, Sylvie and Martin, decided to become his adoptive parents. The little puppy left an Austin shelter and was moved to a loving home. Sylvie and Martin were saddened to see his small body covered in scabs and his sad face.
They carried him with the love he needed to heal. The boy had a skin infection that forced him to be isolated from his foster siblings.
His foster parents prepared him a comfy nook in their spare bathroom. They visited him many times throughout the day, cheering him on and giving him their love and support. They had to wear protective clothing in order to avoid transferring the mange to the other pups.
“Despite this sounding like a sad lifestyle, Tiny has been absolutely great. And, it’s much quieter and more enriching than a crate at the shelter,” Sylvie told The Dodo.
At the beginning, Tiny Tater Tot spent most of his time sleeping. His foster parents knew that it was an important part of his healing journey.
Gradually, he started getting better and his appearance changed. Tiny Tater Tot transformed into an energetic and happy pup. He began running to his foster parents’ arms whenever he saw them.
The affectionate canine loved snuggling with them and soaking up all the love they gave him.
The puppy will recover and find a forever family.

After a few weeks, Little Tater Tot was fully recovered and crusted over. He was so excited to finally meet his adopted children. The adorable pup gets along well with everyone and has developed a strong bond with his foster mom, Lucy.
Lucy loved the little puppy and was very kind to him. Thanks to his foster family and their selfless love and care, Little Tater Tot has become a completely different puppy. He quickly found his forever family. His forever parents are in love with their amazing puppy and will soon give him a loving home.
Little Tater Tot will miss his foster family and foster siblings, but is excited to begin the happiest chapter of his life. He will have two siblings, Potbeled Pig and Doberman.
Little Tater Tot wants to hug his new mom and give her all the love he can. His greatest wish will soon come true. He always gets the love he craves.
