Whenever I see an abandoned dog struggling to survive in the harshest conditions, I ask myself, “Who would do such a cruel thing to an animal?” Unfortunately, tens of thousands of these innocent creatures are left to fend for themselves on the streets every day, breaking my heart.
A Heartbreaking Discovery
The last story of abandonment I came across was particularly devastating. Blanquita, a tiny dog with an inborn neurological disorder, was found in a trash bag. The level of cruelty is beyond words. Thankfully, amidst such heartlessness, there are always kind souls ready to help, and Blanquita was fortunate to be discovered by one of them.
Heartless Act
Long-time animal rescuer Gio, a compassionate woman, rushed to the city mansion where Blanquita was found. The call she received indicated the pup was in dire straits. Upon arrival, Gio’s heart shattered as she saw Blanquita lying motionless on the street, too weak to move.
Blanquita had spent days on the street, her past unclear but undoubtedly tragic. She was severely injured, unable to use her hind legs, had broken ribs, a neurological disorder, and was extremely anemic. Despite her suffering, Blanquita managed to keep a kind smile on her face, showing a strong will to live.

Gio immediately took Blanquita to a veterinary clinic, where she received a critical blood transfusion. The first few days were crucial, and the team of veterinarians worked tirelessly, hoping she would pull through.
Thankfully, Blanquita made it through the worst. With her incredible rescuers by her side, she began her recovery journey from a safer place. She found a loving foster home where she received round-the-clock care. Her treatments continued, including physiotherapy and massages, which she enjoyed.
Blanquita also received a customized wheelchair to support her daily walks and improve her mobility. Each visit to the clinic was met with her wagging tail and sweet smile, showing her resilience and determination.
A New Beginning
After twelve months of dedicated care and rehabilitation, Blanquita recovered from her traumatic past. She blossomed into a wonderful dog, living her best life far from the streets and that trash bag. Despite her neurological disorder, Blanquita is now happy and thriving, surrounded by love and care. She absolutely deserves this newfound happiness.
