Tom Cruise’s character Pete “Maverick” Mitchell returned, and fans of all ages were thrilled to see him in the role and learn more about his life as a successful aviator.
Due to the actor’s recent health issues, viewers were even more excited when it was revealed that Val Kilmer would be reprising his iconic role as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky. While working with Tom Cruise once more, Val previously expressed his excitement, remarking that it “felt like no time had passed at all” to see him. ”.
