The Voice has released Blake Shelton from his duties.
After an incredible 12-year run as a coach on the renowned NBC singing competition, The Voice, Blake Shelton’s tenure as a coach has come to an end.
Throughout his tenure on the show, Shelton won nine times, leaving a lasting impression. In October 2022, he publicly announced his departure by posting on Instagram that he had decided to stop participating in The Voice after season 23.
Shelton wrote, “I’ve been struggling with this decision for a while.” Shelton’s words were sincere and heartfelt. My life has been greatly impacted by this program, and I will always hold a special place in my heart for it. ”.
He ended by saying, “These twelve years of chair turns have been an incredible ride, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at The Voice, including NBC, the talented producers, writers, musicians, crew members, and even the catering staff. You are all without a doubt the best in the industry. ”.
Along with Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green, Shelton started his coaching career during the first season of the show. Over the course of several seasons, he and Adam Levine shared coaching responsibilities, forming a strong alliance.
Shelton accepted new celebrity coaches like Nick Jonas, Shakira, and eventually his wife, Gwen Stefani, whom he met on the show, after Adam Levine left the program in season 16 and was replaced by them.
Viewers couldn’t help but wonder why Shelton was leaving The Voice, even though the most recent season saw the return of Kelly Clarkson as a coach and the introduction of Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan.
Shelton stated that his decision was motivated by a desire to spend more time with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and their family.
Shelton described how they spent the first half of their lives on the road in a December 2022 cover story, saying, “Gwen and I have spent the first half of our lives on the go. ”.
