The most animated toddler at the wedding is Pierson Mihelich, age 2.
When Kristie Mihelich was planning her ideal wedding, she could never have imagined that her son would wind up being the focal point of the event.
After postponing their wedding due to the coronavirus outbreak, Mihelich, 40, and Bobby, her husband, wed on April 22 in West Bloomfield, Michigan. At first business partners, they later became lovers.
God had really quick plans for us because we got pregnant, Mihelich told TODAY Parents. The parents declared, “Our son Pierson was always going to be the ring bearer.”.
As the wedding ceremony began, “Canon in D” began to play, and 2-year-old Pierson joined his father at the altar as everyone awaited their first glimpse of the bride.
The doors opened, and the groom wiped away a tear as little Pierson marveled.
Then, the excited young boy lost control of his excitement.
Pierson shouted, “Hey, Mom!” and waved, then ran toward her, the audience laughing and cheering.
Pierson, who turns 3 on May 4, and her brother Kirk ultimately walked down the aisle with Mihelich.
The experience was “the sweetest thing on the entire planet,” according to Mihelich. I was so happy with my marriage that I could have easily left at that point.
When it came to Pierson’s actions on the big day, Mihelich acknowledged to TODAY that she was initially confused.
She had her brother-in-law take him for a walk outside because he was screaming bloody murder throughout the rehearsal dinner the previous evening. He didn’t get to practice, so to speak, walking down the aisle.
Samantha Mihelich, the couple’s niece, posted a video of the incident—which has since gone viral—on TikTok, where it has received over 950,000 views.
Mihelich is grateful to have the recording.
The woman stated that the incident was not well captured on camera because “my brother-in-law was so excited and he jumped right in front of the camera while it was happening.”. I was extremely appreciative that we could download it to the iPhone.
According to Mihelich, Pierson’s “energy” on her wedding day set the tone for the entire evening.
“I couldn’t have planned it any other way and I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Mihelich said of her son. His father loved it too, and his mother thought it was priceless and sweet.
