Becoming an animal rescuer is not easy. Every day you overcome many heartaches in different ways. But what always amazes me about them is their ability to rescue a broken dog and restore his playful and happy spirit.
It’s almost like a superpower because he’s completely transformed after spending time with his rescuers. In this story we will tell about a cowardly dog who knew he could trust his rescuers and gave them another chance.

When Violet was first rescued by rescuers from I Stand With My Pack in California, she was so scared she could barely communicate with them. He was incredibly malnourished and should have weighed at least 40 pounds at the time of the vet visit, but was found to be around 19.4 pounds.

They quickly found him a foster home in California, and Whitney Cummings stepped in to care for him.
Under his care, Violet slowly recovered and regained her weight. He also realized that Whitney only wanted the best for him, so he was comfortable with her.

This meant he was much more playful and confident. Whitney introduced him to the other dogs in the house and he actually did.
They enjoyed playing together, but sometimes seemed no match for Violet’s new powers. He was always happy.
After months of care, Violet turned into a completely different dog. Now it is almost unrecognizable.

But that means it’s time to find him a forever home. Soon someone intervened. It was hard for Whitney to say goodbye, but she knew that Violet would go to a beautiful home with people who would care about her.
In the end, it just goes to show how hard it is sometimes to see a puppy go hungry, but it’s worth it when you see him recover and become a beautiful, happy puppy.
