When Carrie and Craig Kosinski were asked by a family friend to care for her young twins, they immediately agreed. Little did they know that this would mark the beginning of an incredible journey that would bring them three sets of twins in just five years. The Kosinskis always dreamed of having children, but they never anticipated the unique path their parenthood would take. On February 28, 2014, they welcomed Adalynn and Kenna into their lives. The twins, born via emergency C-section, became their legal guardians when they were just three months old.
Expanding the Family
After a couple of years of raising their adoptive twins, the Kosinskis received a heartbreaking call. The girls’ biological mother, facing significant challenges, asked if the couple would adopt her two-year-old twins, Cece and J.J. Without hesitation, Carrie and Craig decided to keep the siblings together, opening their hearts and home to the younger twins. During this time, the couple had struggled with multiple failed attempts at getting pregnant and had been devastated by the news that Carrie couldn’t conceive naturally due to severe endometriosis. Adoption had become their Plan A.
A Miracle Pregnancy
Just a few weeks after welcoming Cece and J.J., Carrie discovered she was unexpectedly pregnant with twins. This news was astonishing and joyous for the couple, who had come to terms with the belief that they would not have biological children. “We were in shock, but super happy,” Carrie recalled. They saw this unexpected pregnancy as a gift from a higher power and committed themselves to creating a safe and loving environment for all six of their children.
The Coincidence of a Lifetime
In a twist of fate, Carrie gave birth to their biological twins, Karraline and Clarissa, on February 28, the same date as their other two sets of twins. This incredible coincidence reaffirmed to Carrie and Craig that their family journey was meant to be.
Despite the inevitable challenges of raising three sets of twins, the Kosinskis have received overwhelming support from their community. Generous strangers from across the country have contributed to their fundraising efforts, assisting with the growing expenses of raising six children.
A Flourishing Family
Managing a household with six children requires exceptional organization, and Carrie admits that staying organized is key. Each child brings their own unique personality and joy to the family. The Kosinskis are grateful for the love and blessings each of their children provides. Their extraordinary journey has taught them that they were destined to adopt their children and create their own unique family. Watching their children grow is a true blessing for Carrie and Craig.
