While renovating their 63-year-old home in Crystal Lake, Illinois, Grace and Rob Jones were delighted to find a time capsule. Rob discovered an odd substance sticking out of a corner as he used chisels and pliers to remove the original toilet paper holder.

They looked further, and inside the wall they found two McDonald’s hamburger wrappers and a neatly stored side of fries. Even the original logo from the 1955 launch of the fast food restaurant was present on the packaging.

The discovery was exceptional for its age because it still retained all of the potato-like flavors despite being wrongfully imprisoned for decades.

It served as a reminder of how much time had passed, but it also showed that some things, like fantastic french fries, are timeless.

While remodeling their home, Rob and Grace were thrilled to find a time capsule. They discovered vintage McDonald’s items, including wrappers with Speedee the company’s original mascot and logo.

Grace remembers her mother being present at the dedication of the first McDonald’s restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, in 1995.

Rob and Grace had the impression that they had been transported back in time to the early days of one of the most well-known fast-food restaurants in the United States as a result of this.

Grace spoke to Today about her grandmother’s first encounter with the fast-food establishment.

She emphasized how amazed and overjoyed her grandma was to go back to such a memorable occasion from her youth, one that she could remember not only the cost of the food but also the atmosphere.

Grace said they would happily part with the original wrappers and french fries that had been kept in a jar above their refrigerator for many years if someone offered them a fair price.
