Gosiame Thamara Sithole went viral in the summer of 2021 after claiming she gave birth to 10 babies at once. Some were happy for her and congratulated her while some felt there was something fishy with her story. It didn’t take long for the truth to come to light.

Children are blessings and having 10 kids at once will always be a spectacular event.

In June 2020 it was rumored that a 37 year old woman has just give birth to 10 babies all at once at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in South Africa.

The news was first seen on Pretoria News and if was written by Journalist Piet Rampedi who claimed that the decuplets were delivered on June 7th by Gosiame Thamara Sithole.

According to Pretoria News, Ms. Sithole and her partner Teboho, from a working-class township in the Gauteng province, near Johannesburg, were shocked when they welcomed decuplets after scans showed that she was pregnant with ‘only’ eight babies.

It was like breaking a world record and the news was soon on every headline including international news outlets. It was easier for it to get all the attention as decuplets aren’t a regular occurrence so it was spectacular.

According to the news paper, The Temibsa 10 as they were called was delivered through c section and the pregnancy of three girls and seven boys was achieved naturally and not through any fertility treatment.

Sithole told Pretoria News in June 2021, “I am shocked by my pregnancy. It was tough at the beginning. I was sick. It was hard for me. It’s still tough, but I am used to it now. I don’t feel the pain anymore, but it’s still a bit tough. I just pray for God to help me deliver all my children in a healthy condition, and for my children and me to come out alive. I would be pleased about it.”

Donations started pouring in from allover the world so they will be able to take care of the children and realised over $70,000 according to BBC.

The story started getting suspicious after it was realised that Pretoria never mentioned the name of the hospital were the decuplets were delivered. Gatueng government decided to carry out an investigation and at the end no hospital had any record of delivering decuplets.

It was also discovered that she was never pregnant of recent, which left people wondering why she had to fabricate such stories.

The journalist who published the story was a friend of the couple and when they texted him that they have welcomed decuplets he never thought they could lie about something like that and didn’t care about verifying the news. He went on to tender an apology to his colleagues and the media outlets as well.
