Richard Gere has an intriguing love life. He was previously married to Cindy Crawford and Carey Lowell, and in 2015, he married Alejandra Silva, who is 33 years his junior. Yet, the two have created a wonderful and happy marriage.

Richard Gere is unquestionably one of the world’s most famous performers. He began his career in London theatres and subsequently on Broadway, but his breakthrough came with the film Looking for Mr Goodbar, starring Diane Keaton. After a few more roles, Richard was cast as the titular character in American Gigolo.

His career and he became increasingly successful. After a while, he was given the role that would consecrate him. He co-starred alongside Julia Roberts in the film Pretty Woman.

Richard initially refused the part, but Julia Roberts persuaded him. In an office, the two were discussing the film, and when the director asked what they had decided, Julia wrote Richard a “Please say yes” letter. Richard believed Julia’s gesture was kind, so he decided to participate.

Richard chose a career path that allowed him to “race” for a specific position or renown. He led a Buddhist lifestyle. He has been a devotee of the Dalai Lama and interested in Tibetan Buddhism since he was a child. In 1993, he won the Best Art Direction Award, but instead of discussing what he had already put on the paper, he chose to discuss China’s occupation of Tibet, which enraged producer Gil Cates.

On the other hand, Richard continued to live his views despite being barred from entering China for life by the Chinese authorities.

This caused Richard some difficulty because he could not appear in many films. After all, China did not welcome him.

He also said that he was once barred from public appearances and that some directors told him they couldn’t cast him because China wouldn’t buy the picture. Following several such issues, Richard limited his acting to small and indie productions while raising a great family with his wife, Alejandra Silva.

Alejandra Silva is a publicist and activist born in Madrid in 1983. Her and Richard’s families are friends. Thus, the two had always known each other, but they met again in Positano in 2014. They had a genuine connection.

They stayed in touch and were interested in each other after that. They were divorced then, but life’s troubles brought them closer together. She claimed Richard was more persuaded of their relationship than she was, and he gave her flowers every day until she went on a date with him. Alejandra also claims to be living in a fairy tale with Richard and is thrilled. Alejandra converted to Buddhism after the couple married in 2018 and currently lives in New York City.

Their first child was born in 2019, and their second child was born 14 months later.

Despite their age gap, the two have a lovely family and do not wish to change anything.

Alejandra stated in an interview with Richard that he promised her at least 20 fantastic years together and that the age gap does not worry her, especially since Richard is much more active and energetic. It can sometimes be challenging for her to keep up with his lifestyle.
