When Isaiah Acosta was born in 1999, he struggled for his life.

He was born without a jaw and the capacity to eat or speak due to a condition known as situs inversus, which meant he was deprived of oxygen for 15 minutes at birth.

Doctors informed his mother that even if he survived, he would have no quality of life, yet 20 years later, this fighter is living a healthy life and establishing a name for himself in the music industry.

Isaiah Acosta of Phoenix, Arizona, exemplifies why you should never give up on your dreams.

He was born two months early, without a jaw, and was not expected to live.

He couldn’t speak or eat and still needed a breathing tube.

But Isaiah made it through, and he’s been a fighter ever since.

In a documentary about his life, Tarah, Isaiah’s mother, described her son as a miracle. Isaiah, born on October 31, 1999, arrived two weeks early.

Isaiah was born on October 31, 1999, two weeks before his due date. His mother saw early on that something was wrong with her beloved son. The physicians announced that Isaiah might not live after a lengthy and emotional conversation.

“Everything in his body is a reversed mirror image. “His gut, his heart, everything,” Tarah explained.

Because Isaiah was born without a jaw, his parents had to decide whether to save him or take the risk immediately. Tarah was warned that her son would not be able to walk, talk, or even get out of bed.

The tiny fighter had agnathia, which caused his jaw to be missing. He had to breathe through a tracheal tube in his neck, but Isaiah was born without oxygen for 15 minutes.

Even though his mother was terrified, she felt a strong bond with her kid. He was her son, not a requirement.

“I didn’t picture you as the infant with no jaw and all these tubes and wires breathing for you,” she explained to NPR.

“I had just seen you and thought you were my baby. We told the physicians to keep working on you, and you fought to stay alive.”

Despite significant odds, Isaiah is a living example of what you can achieve if you put your mind to it.

Isaiah’s charming attitude and brilliant smile can light up a room with a single expression!

“Isaiah comes to school every day excited and ready to interact, he knits his community together, people want to know his story, they want to be around him,” Chris, his “favourite teacher,” stated.

Aspires to be a rapper

Isaiah is extensively involved in community service and pursuing his passion for working in the music industry, which is astounding given that this incredible young man cannot talk.

Isaiah has never tasted food because he lacks a lower jaw and upper airways, and he is fed six times a day through a feeding tube in his stomach.

Unfortunately, Isaiah’s condition causes him to get sick more frequently than others. He can’t breathe through his nose or mouth. Therefore he gets a different clean air.

Isaiah usually has the most difficulty during the dry Arizona winters.

On the other hand, Isaiah can communicate not just through distinctive gestures and his phone but also by writing songs and rap.

Tikey “Trap House” Patterson of Phoenix provided the voice for Isaiah’s first rap. Unfortunately, the rapper died of pancreatic cancer in January 2019.

“You should constantly rise to be able to accomplish what you want to do, and never let the opinions of others prevent you from attaining your goals,” he advised Isaiah.

Isaiah has found encouragement in his fellow rapper to keep going. He graduated from high school last year, which his family never imagined.

“I’m going to carry on his legacy by sharing our story and spreading love,” Isaiah told 12News.

Isaiah has amassed a sizable social media following, sharing events from his daily life and personal stories.

His movies and photos are an excellent method of drawing attention to a sporadic illness that sadly causes people to evaluate him only on his appearance.

In 2022, Isaiah revealed some good news with his 150,000 Instagram followers. Isaiah announced that the doctors worked on his nose in a photo taken after his surgery.

All Isaiah wants in life is a fair chance, and he hopes to help those sick or appear different.

Isaiah has conquered numerous challenges, and I hope he will continue to do so and inspire many people.
