Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new Netflix series is ready to air, but before it does, the Duchess of Sussex revealed what to expect.

During a recent Archetypes podcast with Andy Cohen, the former actress made an off-the-cuff remark about appearing on the popular reality TV show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The Real Housewives executive producer joked that if Meghan continued to watch the Housewives TV show, which covers the lives of wealthy women in several cities across the United States and the United Kingdom, he would develop a show centered on her.

“I quit watching the Housewives” once the drama in her personal life became too much for her.

After Meghan arrived in Los Angeles, the TV producer informed her that several people had questioned him about her interest in joining the popular series. “Is this my audition for Real Housewives of Montecito?” She inquired jokingly.

“You don’t need to audition; the play will be constructed around you,” he stated. Meghan quickly reaffirmed that “there will be no real program”, following her insistence that her next Netflix project will not be a fly-on-the-wall reality show.

The highly anticipated series starring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will air on December 8th. The film, previously named Chapters, is about Meghan and Harry’s continuous love story. In 2020, the couple agreed to a multi-year, $100 million contract with the industry’s most extensive streaming service.

“Our goal will be to create helpful but inspiring content,” Meghan and Harry said. “As newlyweds, making encouraging family programs is very vital to us. Because of Netflix’s unrivaled reach, we can distribute material that inspires action.”

“Even if it’s not how we would have portrayed the narrative, it’s amazing to be able to trust a seasoned director whose work I’ve long liked with it,” the Duchess added in a recent interview. “However, that is not why we are alerting you. Our narrative will be recounted through their eyes since we trusted them with it.”

Despite the royals’ reluctance to share the details of their project, Meghan and Harry have revealed that their Netflix docuseries would primarily focus on their love story.

The mother of two told The Cut, “The piece of my life I haven’t been able to share, that others haven’t been able to experience, is our love story.”
