Only a few days after being “blindsided” by divorce papers, according to Radar Online, police were called to Kevin Costner’s house. According to the news source, someone in Costner’s Carpinteria, California, home called the police to report a trespasser who was refusing to leave the property.
The issue was “Trespass/Refusing to Leave,” according to dispatch records, and police responded quickly, showing up at Costner’s residence at around 10 p.m. on May 6. According to a Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, deputies used their expertise in public relations to solve the problem.

Last month, rumors started to circulate about the future of the popular Western series Yellowstone, for which Costner has served as the lead actor since 2018. According to sources from the show, Costner and the production team had been at odds over when the show would shoot. Apparently, Costner had set a shooting cap of 65 days, but for the first half of the fifth season, he only wanted to shoot for 50 days. Another source told the Daily Mail that Sheridan was to blame, suggesting the co-creator “developed a God complex” and told Costner to “stick to acting” when the actor raised concerns about the show’s direction. In any case, it’s now been confirmed that Yellowstone will be ending after its current season, with that news coming just days after Costner’s wife of 18 years, Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce.
The divorce petition, according to all accounts, completely caught Costner off guard.
“Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he obviously doesn’t want the divorce and he would take her back,” one friend reportedly said. “It’s disappointing, he loves her and he loves his children. ”.

Raquel Zick, a spokesperson for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office did not shed details on who said trespasser was, or if the incident was in anyway connected to feud between Costner and Baumgartner. “This call was cleared without an arrest or case number so that is the extent of the information,” she told RadarOnline.
