Rumer Willis expressed her support for her father, Bruce, after it was revealed earlier this year that the Hollywood great would “walk aside” from his career owing to health issues.
According to a statement released by Bruce’s family on Wednesday, the actor, 67, was diagnosed with aphasia, a medical condition that has hampered his cognitive ability.
Rumer, Bruce’s daughter, uploaded a throwback photo from her youth on Instagram on Friday, gushing over her “Daddio to the moon and back.”
Rumer shared a snapshot of herself making a silly face with her father, her sister Scout, 30, and herself, thanking her father for “teaching me to be foolish.”
“Daddio, you have my love,” Rumer, Bruce, and Demi Moore wrote. Thank you for teaching me how to laugh at myself. “I enjoy laughing with you.”
More than 60,000 people liked the post on Facebook, and many of her followers sent supportive comments in the post’s comments section.
Scout, who was in the throwback photo, revealed this after posting a more recent image of herself and her father on social media, where they could be seen beaming at each other.
Scout described receiving so much love, support, and prayers as a “humbling” experience during such a terrible time for the family.
“Our family is currently experiencing a very difficult time, therefore we sincerely appreciate all of your love, compassion, and support.”
“We’re dealing with this as a strong family unit, and we wanted to invite his fans because we know how much you all love him.”
“Living it up, as Bruce usually says, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do together,”
Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, and Evelyn signed the post.
