Even if he receives a nomination, Brendan Fraser has stated that he will not attend the 2019 Golden Globes ceremony.
The 53-year-old actor is undergoing what might be considered a career revival due to his superior performance in the critically acclaimed film The Whale.
Since his peak in Hollywood, Fraser has spent considerable time out of the spotlight, but his performance in the latest Darren Aronofsky film has received widespread praise.
The story of the movie centres on a 600-pound man named Charlie who is trying to get back in touch with his teenage daughter after abandoning them for a gay lover years earlier.
Brendan Fraser says he will not attend the Golden Globes if nominated — “My mother didn’t raise a hypocrite. You can call me a lot of things, but not that.”

Fraser, known for his roles in The Mummy trilogy and George of the Jungle, has said he has no plans to attend the Golden Globes next year if nominated, as rumours suggest he will be. This is true even though critics have praised Fraser’s performance, and it has been hailed as his comeback in a big way.
Fraser revealed in a shocking interview with GQ magazine in 2018 that he had been groped by Philip Berk, the former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), in 2003.
The organisation started an investigation, but it is claimed they ultimately tried to pass off Berk’s actions as “a joke” to Fraser.
“The HFPA stands firmly against sexual harassment and the kind of behavior described in this article,” read an HFPA statement at the time.
In addition to announcing Golden Globe nominees, attending the ceremony, and participating in press conferences, we’ve maintained a positive working relationship with Brendan over the years.
“The HFPA is currently looking into additional details surrounding the incident because this report allegedly contains information that we were previously unaware of. “.
Fraser said he wouldn’t attend a future ceremony because of his history with the HFPA when asked about possibly attending the Golden Globes if nominated for the Best Actor role.
According to Fraser, “I have less respect for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association because of my history with them.”. “No, I won’t take part. “.
Because of my past interactions with them, he continued. Additionally, my mother did not raise a hypocrite. You can call me many things, but not that. “.

Fraser has previously discussed his difficulties while filming The Whale, including carrying an additional 50 to 300 pounds while performing various scenes.
The torso piece of the suit, he said, “was almost like a straight jacket.”.
The US premiere of The Whale is scheduled for December 9.
Brendan Fraser’s presence on the big screen needs to be noticed. To me, he will always be a legend.
